I created a little application (sorry but it had to be native) that given a Google Sitemap XML file, I check whether each URL is included in the Google index and report which are not. I had to make it native, as it would otherwise look like my querying-the-hell out of the Google index (that wouldn't be nice of me). I zipped up the EXE, so you have to open the ZIP file first, then the EXE. And you need .NET 2.0 to run the application. I also added some product ads via the Amazon API. It's all pretty cool! If you use it and find it helpful and you want to contribute to more of the same, then a link would be most helpful. Thanks!

That's pretty cool, Randy.  Definitely del.icio.us.  Now that I know that 10 of my pages aren't indexed, what can I do about it? --SterlingCamden

Sterling,
That depends entire on what the page are and when they were created. Feel free to drop the URLs here.

Thanks, Randy.  Here are the URLs.  All posts:

Entry 300 to 306 are recent and it's most likely Google just hasn't gotten around to indexing them yet.

Randy

And I can't explain the other ones. When did you create the sitemap and submit it? Maybe it just needs a bit of time.

Randy
Thanks, Randy.  I believe it was just last week that I downloaded the google sitemap plugin for wordpress and activated it.  I'll try your little utility again in a week or so. Thanks for your help!

Randy, I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but when I try to run your application on my system WinXP Pro SP1 I get an error "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application"  and I'm not able to start.

Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,

Edward
Edward,
Do you have .NET 2.0 installed?

Randy

Randy

Randy, Initially I did not have .NET2.0 installed so I installed it, but the problem still exists.
I’ll try on a different system for better luck ;)
