Today, I got an AdWords ad rejected because of the spelling of the word WITH. I used quite a bit of 1337 in the ad, because it's targeted at the MySpace generation. Most of the leet was not mentioned, but they offered an alternate leet spelling for the word WITH. Here's their suggested change to allow the ad.
I suggest making the following change(s):
Current: w
Replace with: w/
Google is reporting a temporary reporting delay in Analytics. Andy Beal has more. I would add that this is the second time I see this occurrence in the last week.

After a couple of emails, I was finally advised by AdSense support that the following is acceptable for laying out ads with image directly above. Note that I put the privacy policy and terms of service between the images and the ads.

Today, I asked Google about laying out my AdSense ad unit with images above. A sample is shown.
They replied "we ask that you exercise caution when placing images near the Google ads on your site, as AdSense publishers may not rely on deceptive implementation methods to generate clicks." I'm gonna try a variation on the same theme and ask again.
I'v been trying AdSense Referrals 2.0 for more than a week. I gave them 100,000+ inline, revelant, 50-50 above-below the fold impressions and generated 0 conversions to date (talk-sports.net). I'm gonna move them to the lower right in the sidebar since they don't seem to be converting at all. Anybody else have better success? Cause this sucks for me.

Here's a simple way of making money on the Interet. Talk with people. Find a pain and solve it.
Yesterday, while talking to my father-in-law, he said he needed this program that use to be available for free, but was recently terminated. I responded that I was shocked that such a program would be difficult to find as it would be useful to millions of people worldwide. It would take me 2 days to create the program as a website and make it available publicly with ads. This idea couldn't fail. Then my father-in-law asked if I could do this other program as well.
2 days of work + $10/yr for the domain = revenue forever
As I explained earlier today, the terms of the AdSense Referral program were a bit confusing.
Google has previous said "Unlike with AdSense for content ads, we encourage you to endorse referral products by calling attention to the button or text link", but the terms and conditions say "You shall not promote or facilitate a Referral Event by any means other than displaying a Referral Button on the Site."
I sent the AdSense support team an email to clarify and they replied almost immediately. Here's an excerpt.
It's true that we encourage publishers to endorse referral products by mentioning the button and/or links.
The line you referred to ('You shall not promote or facilitate a Referral Event by any means other than displaying a Referral Button on the Site') is from our program Terms and Conditions and ends with the line 'unless expressly authorized in writing by Google (including by electronic mail).'
Therefore, since we mentioned that publishers are allowed to bring attention to the referral units (in this Inside AdSense blog post: http://adsense.blogspot.com/2007/04/encouraging-clicks ), you're more than welcome to do so..html
For your reference, publishers are allowed to use language such as "I use AdSense and recommend it to monetize your website." However, publishers shouldn't use language such as "Click here to help us," "Visit these links to support our site," or other similar language. In addition, you may not click your own ads nor encourage conversions for deceitful reasons.
She seems to be saying that you can endorse and call attention to a referral link, but you can't tell you users to sign-up so that you can make money from it or any deceitful manner whatsoever. So, I can have an AdSense sign-up page on my website, but I can't tell people to sign-up using my link so that we make a little extra money.
Google is now accepting everybody into their Referrals 2.0 program. This expands Google's referrals to a broader range of products, not just the Google downloads. It seems you can choose a category of products, several products that rotate in an ad space or one specialized product. Each referral product comes in different ad formats, some of which can be used in inline text.
There's a bit of confusion about how you can call attention to a referral link. Google has previous said "Unlike with AdSense for content ads, we encourage you to endorse referral products by calling attention to the button or text link", but the terms and conditions say "You shall not promote or facilitate a Referral Event by any means other than displaying a Referral Button on the Site."

Review: The user interface for referrals is horrible. I'm amazed that Google would accept it as they usually have the best UIs. I clicked on a link and lost my shopping cart. I was able to easily reproduce. It seems you can only click on certain links or your shopping cart evaporates.
